Veteran reporter, writer and editor.

Primarily focused on business, personal finance, real estate and economics. My super power is pitching unique ideas.

About Me

Real quick, I’ve been a reporter and/or editor at Yahoo Finance, USA TODAY, Bankrate and The Associated Press among other outlets. My CV gets into that nitty gritty.

More broadly, as a journalist, I offer unique angles on personal finance, housing, economics and consumer behavior. I turn in clean and engaging copy that is well reported, tapping the many experts I’ve connected with over a two-decade career.

I love exploring how different forces affect our financial security and how our interactions with those forces shape our relationships with money. I like to break down complex topics into easy-to-understand terms so that readers walk away feeling not only that they learned something new, but also empowered to take action in their financial lives because of their newfound knowledge.

I also have experience talking about my reporting on video, radio, podcasts and on stage. I love sharing what I’ve learned from people way smarter than me and how those tidbits can help others.

I’m also an author, first as a contributing writer to a self-published ebook in 2012 called “Future Millionaires’ Guidebook” by several Bankrate staffers and contributors. I also co-authored a forthcoming book, “Retirement Bites: A Gen X Guide to Securing Your Financial Future,” with Kerry Hannon, set to publish in September 2025 from Hachette Book Group’s Basic Venture.

I’ve also had the honor to receive two SABEW Best in Business Awards and one Peter Lisagor Award during my career. I was also a finalist for the Gerald Loeb Award in 2007 and have served as a judge for SABEW’s Best in Business Awards for the last three years.

On the home front, I live in New York City with my husband, son and my cat, Pennie.
